Bothnia Wood manufactures and sells about 6000 cubic meters of wood chips. Wood Chips are sourced in accordance with PEFC guidelines and are classified as a sustainable biomass resource. Rotary dry processing is used to control moisture and eliminate contaminants, resulting in a clean and safe product. Spruce and pine timber, used for construction purposes is often sawn from ‘centrepieces’ and ‘sideboards’. The centrepieces are cut from the middle of the trunk and the sideboards from the outside of the trunk. ‘Centre-free’ parts are centrepiece parts without heartwood or the soft inner core of the trunk portion, making them stronger and more stable. Rough sawn wood is almost always kiln dried.
