Calcium sulfonate greases are commonly used in automotive, agriculture, construction, mining, paper production, iron and steel mills and the food industry. Specific automotive applications include chassis, ball joints, universal joints and wheel bearings. Industrial applications include continuous casters, conveyors, ball mills, crushers, offshore and underwater applications. Calcium sulfonate greases are also used in motorized steam valves to control high pressure steam. These steam valves are typically found in nuclear power plants and thermal manufacturing stations. It is also known that the calcite particles found in calcium sulfonate greases make them a good choice for high temperature applications. Calcium sulfonate greases are generally beneficial in rust-inhibiting performance and oxidation stability is considered good or excellent. Rust inhibitors are surfactants that neutralize acids on the metal surface.

Compared to ordinary petroleum-derived base oils, white grease has a much higher load carrying and friction reduction capability. It is widely used in the food industry as an NSF approved food grease. In addition to the food industry, it has a wide range of applications in the pharmaceutical industry to meet the need for lubricants. For this reason, it is also called pharmaceutical industry grease. White grease, which provides long-term working performance in many places due to its wide temperature ranges, is widely preferred in these areas.

The NSF H1 approval allows the high performance grease to be used in the food and pharmaceutical industry as in it is not a threat to human health. They are applied as a release agent on seals of tank covers, as a protective anti-corrosion film on food processing equipment. It can also be used as a lubricant for machine parts and equipment where the lubricated part is potentially exposed to food. The amount used should be the smallest amount necessary to achieve the desired technical effect on the equipment. If used as an anti-rust film, it should be removed from the equipment surface. The materials to be used in H1 performance grease are called HX-1.

For this reason, failure to select the appropriate oil will result in increased friction and abrasion, needle platinum breakage, and abrasion due to heating to high temperatures inside the machine. It has become a necessity for the oil selected in knitting machines to be of high quality.
