Established in 1968, IFIS is a leading international provider of food science and health research and information. IFIS produces FSTA®, also known as FSTA® - Food Science and Technology Abstracts, an extensive and specialist food science database of carefully selected content, which is collated, summarised, and indexed for efficient searching. The database is used by researchers, industry practitioners, and students around the world to keep up-to-date with new findings in their fields. To provide high quality information to the global food community, IFIS works with EBSCO, IHS, ProQuest, STN, Thomson Reuters, and Wolters Kluwer. As a not-for-profit charitable organisation, IFIS is committed to advancing the discovery of food and health information, offering access to researchers in developing countries through the Research4Life programmes, HINARI and AGORA.
October saw our Head of Sales and Marketing, René Schölzel, and our local representative for Greater China, Eve Zhang spend a week in Dalian, China, where they attended the 12th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST) and the 2015 Food Summit China, while also finding time to visit some local universities.
