Centrefold plastic film is created by slitting blown film, which is closed on both sides, at the side or down the centre, as desired. It is basically folded flat film. Centrefold film can be used for a wide variety of packaging solutions. One good example is in the furniture industry, which uses centrefold film as furniture covers to protect pieces from dirt and dust. But centrefold film also plays a major role in product packaging in other areas such as e-commerce, the pharmaceutical industry and the textile industry. Centrefold film is mostly processed using machines – especially L sealers, for example. Centrefold film is one of the most common types of plastic film used in automatic packaging machines.

Sometimes size does matter – when it comes to packaging, for example. Sometimes supersize products or extra large amounts of goods require a unique solution. This is where Dürrbeck side gusset tubular film comes into play! This plastic film is similar to standard blown or tubular film, with the exception of its added side gussets, or folds. These allow the film to expand to cover larger circumferences – with a relatively low film width. At Dürrbeck, you can order side gusset tubular film with a maximum circumference of 6,000 mm. Side gusset tubular film is the perfect solution when you need to package bulky, large goods. It is affordable and suitable for a wide range of uses – from delicate laundry or garment bags for clothing to durable protectors of wooden covers, or as special packaging for food. Blown film is typically made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Polyethylene is affordable, durable, watertight and tear-resistant. Depending on how it will be used, we also produce plastic blown film made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), medium-density polyethylene (MDPE), and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). Blown film made of DKFol®-Eco and DKFol®-Eco-Coex offers especially high strength with low thickness. These films allow for a reduction in thickness, without compromising on strength and stability.
