Due to high intensity light from the laser, mirrors used with a laser application require a high damage threshold, and high reflectivity. Knight Optical can help! Laser mirrors are used to reflect or redirect the laser. This manipulation of the beam means it is great for laser applications where there is limited space, as the beam can be steered multiple times. We manufacture mirrors used in the UV/VIS/NIR and infrared. We provide a number of mirrors from stock with coatings at infrared wavelengths such as: Dielectric (98% NIR) Protected Silver (96% VIS/NIR) Protected Gold (97%@750-FAR IR) These are available to purchase from stock in a wide ranges of sizes from 6.3 mm in diameter to a 300mm x 300mm square and various different thicknesses. They are also available with varying flatness specifications with λ/10 also available for immediate shipment and for you to achieve the highest performance. Read PDF for full specification..

Knight Optical can offer you stock and custom lambda/10 mirrors for use in government testing for aerospace, in a range of materials such as BK7 or equivalent, Zerodur, Quartz, UV Fused Silica and many more. Mirrors are made from low expansion glass for optimum stability to maintain the lambda/10 flatness. The mirrors help produce high quality images and can be coated with a variety of coatings to ensure that the perfect quality image in the wavelength you require is achieved: Enhanced aluminium 94%R for visible applications. 99.9% dielectric for laser use in visible applications. UV aluminium for UV applications down to 180nm. 98.5% dielectric for laser use in the NIR applications. Ion plated silver for NIR-2000nm applications. Protected gold for 750nm to far infra-red applications λ/10 mirrors are used in the aerospace environment due to the vibration, temperatures & pressure through which they are exposed. Knight Optical offer a range of Stock Achromatic Doublet Lenses for use within Light Engines. Light engines are used for applications such as fibre optic lighting displays & in diagnostic tools like western blots & polymerase chain reaction systems. These Light Engines are typically able to produce changing colour displays. Within the light engine are a range of lenses & filters. The lenses help to homogenise and collimate the light, ensuring for a crisp high-quality beam output. Achromatic Doublets are typically used in light engine systems & correct for chromatic aberrations which exist in singlet lenses. This is when different wavelengths of light refract at different rates. The doublet lens helps to correct this by facilitating the focusing of the light to the same point. This is especially important in light engines which typically generate white light. Read PDF for more information

Knight Optical offer a range of Stock BK7 Windows, for use within Wind Monitoring LiDAR Systems. These LiDAR systems are used in monitoring wind speeds and wind direction. The data accumulated can be used to generate a Digital Terrain Model or a Digital Elevation Model which are 3D representations of terrain. BK7 is one of the most widely used optical glasses available for use in the range from visible up to the near infrared. Making it ideal as a protective optical window for Wind LiDAR systems which operate at 1500-1560nm. The BK7 can offer an uncoated average transmission of 92% between 300nm and 2000nm. Knight Optical offer a range of Stock N-BK7 Precision Grade Windows, for use with Thermal Imagining Cameras. Infrared radiation is characterised by the wavelengths ranging from 750nm to 1000µm. Although typically used for the visible range, N-BK7 does have transmission within the near infrared spectrum also. Where IR materials such as Germanium are limited to a small band in the IR spectrum, N-BK7 works well throughout the entire visible and into the NIR, making it a perfect material for a protective window for using within a Thermal Imaging Camera. A low cost material, it is perfect substrate for your protective window. We can supply both stock and custom N-BK7 windows to protect your thermal imaging application. The high optical quality and uniform transmission of N-BK7 as well as low absorption in the entire visible wavelength range is a key feature for this application. For more information read PDF
