Magtrol offers three types of torque transducers for dynamic torque and speed measurement. All three transducer models employ our unique non-contact differential transformer torque measuring technology. This measuring technology offers many benefits most notably that no electronic components rotate during operation. Each model has an integrated conditioning electronic module providing a 0 to ±10 VDC torque output and an open collector speed output. Magtrol’s Torque Transducers are very reliable, providing high overload protection, excellent long-term stability and high noise immunity.

Magtrol’s Model DSP7000 High Speed Programmable Dynamometer Controller employs state-of-the-art Digital Signal Processing Technology to provide superior motor testing capabilities. Designed for use with any Magtrol Hysteresis, Eddy-Current or Powder Dynamometer, Magtrol In-Line Torque Transducer or auxiliary instrumentation, the DSP7000 can provide complete PC control via the USB or optional IEEE-488 or RS-232 interface. With up to 500 readings per second, the DSP7000 is ideally suited for both the test lab and the production line.

Magtrol’s Cogging Test System is a stand-alone test system designed to control and measure Detent Torque, Cogging Torque and Friction Torque. The test System includes a precision geared motor, a TS Series Torque Sensor integrating a 5 000 pulses encoder. CTS 100 to CTS 102 have a built-in security clutches to avoid system overload by mishandling when not in use. The geared motor drives the MUT (Motor Under Test) at a low speed from 1 to 10 rpm (respectively 8 rpm for CTS 103 and CTS 104), while acquiring its cogging torque related to angle position. The torque measurement covers a range up to 1 N∙m (depending on the selected torque sensor) with an accuracy of ± 0.1 mN∙m (for TS 100 – 50 mN∙m and TS 101 – 100 mN∙m). The executable software controls the system and displays acquired data. With its compact, bearingless, maintenance-free design, the new TF Torque Flange Sensor from Magtrol brings many appealing advantages to torque measurement applications. The TF’s high torsional rigidity supports direct mounting on the machine shaft or flange, avoiding the use of couplings on one side. This allows easy integration into a test system, shortens the overall length of the test bench and reduces costs. Based on strain-gauge technology, the TF Sensor’s precise telemetry system enables highly accurate signal transmission. A signal amplifier mounted in the measuring flange amplifies the measuring signal, modulates it to high frequency and transmits it inductively (via the HF transmitter) to the receiver. In the receiver, the digitized torque signal is transformed into an analog output signal of ±10 VDC.
