The CTA TactileHead is a width adjustable pressure measurement and mapping system for quantifying pressures exerted by headphones, earmuffs, headbands, and more on various head sizes. A high-resolution Conformable TactArray sensor is molded onto the curved area around the ear of the mannequin head, while another high-resolution TactArray sensor is mounted to a flat plate on the other side of the head to provide a controlled comparison. Chameleon, our real-time visualization and acquisition software, is then used to display pressures from both sensors simultaneously and to perform real-time analysis for evaluating comfort and fit.

The RoboTouch patented capacitive tactile sensing technology is the highest performance embedded tactile sensing technology for giving industrial and consumer robotic grippers or Humanoid robots the “sense of touch”. It is based on Digitacts sensor technology that features embedded digital output ideal for OEM integration into the gripper. The sensors comprise of multiple sensing pads, each typically with 12-24 sensing elements, which can be placed on any location of choosing in the gripper. The Stretchable TactArray is a flexible pressure sensor pad engineered from a soft and conductive silver-metalized Spandex. The Stretchable TactArray can stretch up to 10% and be folded in multiple directions while still maintaining high data quality. This sensor is approximately 3-7 mm thick and is best suited for dynamic curvature applications such as seats, horseback saddles and other applications where sensor thickness is not an issue.
