The company was founded in 1889 by Schwelm-based banker Carl Dicke – initially in Wuppertal, then in Mönchengladbach around 1900. At first, special raw materials for the textile industry were produced. Furthermore, trade in chemical raw materials was carried out for the regional industrial companies (textiles, metal processing, food and chemicals). Today, the commercial sector is still our core business, which we have continuously expanded. We have also been active in the area of contract manufacturing for many years. TRACTO-TECHNIK develops, produces and sells machines and accessories for underground installation and replacement of pipelines. This trenchless NODIG technology can be used in the manufacture of pipeline networks for water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, district heating, fibre optic cable networks and in the waste water disposal industry. Customers for these special machines mostly come from the civil engineering and specialist civil engineering sectors, although these also include suppliers and network operators.
