By completing his training as a book printer in 1919, Josef Altmann laid the foundations for our family tradition in the graphics industry. His sons Gerhard and Werner followed in his footsteps in 1949 and 1955, respectfully. Peter Altmann has been managing the company in what is now the third generation since 1993. With the foundation of Altmann Graphische Maschinen GmbH in 1980, we specialised in the international trade of used machines for printing and finishing, which is our key area of expertise. In 1972, the machine builder and graduate engineer Peter Schröck established Uniflex-Hydraulik GmbH in Frankfurt/Main. Owing to pioneering innovations and extraordinary product quality, the flourishing enterprise soon developed into a global provider of machines for hose production. Uniflex-Hydraulik GmbH became a member of Freiherren Waitz group in 1992. This laid the foundation for further growth: in 1996, the company occupied a new, larger office and production building in Karben, 10 km north of Frankfurt. The subsidiary UNIFLEX of America LLC. with its present registered office in Schaumburg near Chicago, Illinois, was established in 1998 to support the markets in the Americas. In June 2004, UNIFLEX opened a subsidiary in Singapore from where our Asia-Pacific customers are served. We are also represented by offices in Tangerang/Indonesia and Shanghai/China since 2007 and 2009, respectively. Today, after 40 years, UNIFLEX is a system provider in hose production – from workshop equipment to production plants. Innovative and reliable as well as durable hose crimpers, cutting machines, pin prick tools, skiving machines, marking tools, test systems, software and cleaning machines have been and are being developed and marketed in close cooperation with leading hose manufacturers and users.

HSK is a German family-owned business which manufactures motorised eccentric shears. Using upstream or downstream machines, our cutting machines are linked to an automatic cut-to-length or trimming systems. These shears are designed and manufactured in consultation with customers. The drive for the crop, cut-to-size or slitting shears are designed according to customer requirements and a drive using a three-phase or servo gear motor, or a drive using a flywheel and clutch-brake combination is used. Unlike single motorised guillotine shears, HSK guillotine shears with electric control are used for cutting or trimming metal sheets. However, it is also possible to cut other materials, such as plastics, CRP/GRP, non-woven fabric, foam and precious metals. This is mainly in the form of panels but is also possible in the form of reshaped workpieces, such as stamped parts and profiled sheet metal, or direct from the coil.

We build tobacco cutting machines, which can be adjusted for strip, square and rectangle cut. Cut sizes range from 0, 5 to 22 mm. The machines are able to process raw tobacco with or without stems, no preprocessing required. Tobacco leaves can be steamed (moistened) or dry. Furthermore this machines can be used for cutting medicinal herbs, aromatic plants, spices and similar raw materials. When cutting there is a very low amount of dust, even when the herbs are dry. Many clients cut leaves (sage mint), roots (licorice urticae). The cutting machines are based on mechanical technology with easy operation and servicing, very strong and severe designed: they last forever!
