The Hydrogen and Informatics Institute of Applied Technologies, or HIAT gGmbH, was founded in August 2002. Together with small companies and the industry, we provide a scientific basis for the development and optimisation of innovative products in the areas of fuel cells and hydrogen technology. HIAT is not dependent on companies or industry and, in addition to selling its own products, carries out research, development and technology transfer in relation to current and future-oriented topics via research projects initiated by the public and as part of industrial contracts. The new centre was set up on the site of the Research and Technology Park in Schwerin. HIAT strives to further expand its position in the area of hydrogen and fuel cell technology. The development of core components for fuel cells and electrolysis cells in particular is experiencing high demand and enjoying a positive market position.

GESMEX EXCHANGERS GMBH

GESMEX Exchangers GmbH has been manufacturing fully welded plate heat exchangers in a plate and shell design for over 15 years. Our unique selling point is the unique laser weld seam, which results in a large connection cross-section and a small heat-affected zone. The plate package is therefore ideally equipped for withstanding adverse conditions like large temperature gradients and pressure fluctuations. Development, production and sales take place at the Schwerin site. Plate heat exchangers from GESMEX Exchangers are used all over the world. Many different designs are possible. Our equipment can be used as evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers, recuperators, absorbers and other customer-specific solutions. Our range of standard solutions covers various applications, including as evaporators in cooling technology/heat pumps, steam generators in district heating systems, KOH coolers for hydrogen electrolysis, standard heaters and coolers for liquids – and much more.

For more than 25 years, ANKURO has been supplying semi-finished products and services for high-performance materials or so-called refractory metals. We supply and process titanium and titanium alloys, tantalum, molybdenum, TZM, zirconium, zirconium alloys, tungsten and nickel, cobalt and their alloys. However, we can also help you with other non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass or aluminium. We offer the following delivery forms: Semi-finished products including plates, sheets, foils, rods, wires and tubes. Turned and milled parts, precision components, edge and bent parts, laser or waterjet cut parts, wire-cut parts, standard DIN fasteners, custom fasteners, micro screws and titanium castings. We offer brushed, ground, polished, electropolished, PVD coated and anodised (coloured) surface finishes. For the hydrogen industry in particular, we are happy to supply you with high-quality materials such as titanium or nickel foils, for the manufacture of products including Bipolar plates or spring elements in the form of titanium expanded metal. We are also strongly positioned for customer-specific manufacturing of titanium felt sheets. We supply titanium felt in thicknesses from 0.1–5.0 mm and panel formats up to L1500xW500[mm]. The porosity of titanium felt can range from 50–90%. The fibre thickness used can be 20 µm or 50 µm. We are happy to support you in your product development. We work with SolidWorks, Inventor and AutoCad.

balticfuelCells GmbH was founded in 2006 in Schwerin/Germany as technology spin-off of research institute and is located in the Hydrogen Competence Center in Schwerin. balticFuelCells GmbH is focusing on the development and production of fuel cell componentes, based on concrete real-life application and economical feasibility.
