  4. REBO

    Belgium

REBO terminal at Energy Port Oostende, home basis for offshore wind activities in the North Sea. The REBO terminal at the Port of Oostende is the beating heart of the installation and maintenance of the offshore wind farms in the North Sea. For the past 10 years, the Port of Oostende has been actively involved in the building and maintaining of the Belgian offshore wind farms: C-Power, Belwind 1, Northwind and Nobelwind. There are still five wind farms in the planning: Rentel, Norther, Northwester 2, Mermaid and Seastar. In The Netherlands Borssele 1 & 2 will be built by Dong. The Port of Oostende is strategically located in relation to Borssele and is a candidate, as marshalling harbor, for the construction, but also as a service port for the maintenance of Borssele. The varied realizations from the REBO terminal, the strategic location and easy accessibility make Port of Oostende a reliable partner. The REBO-terminal has been adapted for the efficient installation of the offshore wind projects: 800 meters of quays, 15 hectares of terminal surface with a loading-capacity of 20 tons/m², and jack-up facilities for the installation vessels. There is a direct access to the open sea and priority for the operations of the offshore vessels. The Port of Oostende takes care of the development of the necessary infrastructure, which is demanded by the suppliers to the offshore wind industry. Falck Safety Services have built their most modern offshore training-center at Oostende.
