SPIROL's Series LP500 Latch Pins for Plastics are designed with a barb located under the head with a barb length equal to the width of the outermost section of the assembly. The remaining length of the LP500 Latch Pin is smooth without any other retention features. This allows the LP500 Latch Pin for Plastic to easily align and freely install through all of the holes with a plastic assembly until the barb makes contact with the final hole to securely lock the pin in place. Once fully installed, the handle will pivot freely around the non-barbed end of the stationary pin. The head prevents the LP500 Latch Pin from being over-installed, and enables the pin to be mechanically oriented for automatic installation. Manufactured from lightweight, lead free aluminium, SPIROL's LP500 Latch Pins for Plastics are available in three standard diameters: 3mm, 4mm and 5mm.

The economic adjustment to small batch sizes, we meet with our turned parts for the direct assembly in plastics and die-cast products. Any thread forms such as, thread-tapping (DIN7500), thread cutting (DIN 7513-7516) or KTG for direct screw in plastics are realized cost-effectively. Advantage is the elimination of high tooling costs, since no counter-thread in the workpiece (eg threaded inserts, nuts, etc.) is required because the direct assembly takes place directly into the workpiece. Only a given tube is required in order to screw it directly. Our turned parts replace previously cold formed parts used (so-called multi-station presses) which require high output volumes in order to achieve a reasonable price parts.

SPIROL offers robust, vertical installation machines specifically designed to post-mould install Compression Limiters into a variety of plastic assemblies. The machines can install a single Compression Limiter or multiple Compression Limiters simultaneously into various polymers, thermoplastics and thermosets. SPIROL’s Compression Limiter Installation Machines are versatile solutions designed to be retooled to accommodate changing part configurations. All designs incorporate standardized machine components to reduce factory lead time, improve component reliability, and lower component costs. SPIROL also specializes in application-specific fixtures to ensure that all assembly components are held accurately in place through the installation process.

Some of SPIROL's standard Pin Installation Models can be equipped with a pusher punch (in place of a pin insertion quill) to press Threaded Inserts into plastic assemblies. The most appropriate Installation Machine depends on the actual insertion force required to press the Insert into the plastic hole and the desired productivity. Generally speaking, the Model PMH Heavy Duty Installation Machine is typically used for low to medium volume installation, and for medium to high volume installation, SPIROL's Model PH/PHX Platen-Style Installation Machines can be used for simultaneous installation of several Press-In Inserts at the same or different elevations. Due to the length to diameter ratio of Press -In Inserts, it is not possible to cost-effectively tube feed this type of Threaded Insert with SPIROL's automatic feeding and Installation machines.

The combination with corner connectors in the same colour creates a uniform appearance. Wire systems are attached to the base frame, to which the acrylic pockets are attached. The U-pockets allow a quick change of contents by simply pushing them in. The display is delivered pre-assembled and includes a plastic hammer.

The course external thread of SPIROL's Self-Tapping Insert forms an internal thread within a molded or pre-drilled hole during the installation process into a plastic assembly. SPIROL Series 10 Self-Tapping Inserts are thread forming Inserts best suited for softer thermoplastics or thermosets. Self-Tapping Inserts provide the best pull-out resistance for a post-mold installed Insert, yet generally cost more than their post-mold counterparts. The external threads are designed with a thin profile to minimize induced stress in the plastic and have a relative coarse pitch to provide the maximum plastic shear surface to resist pull-out.

SPIROL manufactures several different types of Moulded-In Compression Limiters that are designed to be installed into the plastic assembly during the moulding process. When moulding Compression Limiters into the plastic assembly, the moulding time is increased as the operator or a pick-and-place robot must load each Compression Limiter over the core pin(s) prior to closing the mould cavity. Precise placement of the Moulded-In Compression Limiter over the core pin is required; otherwise mould damage can occur. SPIROL Standard Moulded-In Compression Limiters include: The Series CL500 Moulded-In, Series CL460 Moulded-In - Oval, Series CL600 & CL601 Aluminum and Series CL800 & CL801 Brass.

SPIROL's FH400 Headed Barbed Pin has a series of barbs extending down the entire length of the pin. Headed Barbed Pins are a great replacement for self-tapping screws in plastic assemblies as Barbed Pins are installed into standard moulded (or drilled) holes, they install much faster than screws, and they eliminate issues associated with cross-threaded or skewing during installation. Unlike screws that resist back-out (or loosening) by being tightened to a preset torque, Barbed Pins are retained by the plastic backfilling over the aggressively-designed barbs. The head provides a positive stop and is also used to retain a thin component to a thicker component within an assembly. SPIROL's FH400 Headed Barbed Pins are available in metric diameters ranging from Ø2mm to Ø6mm and inch diameters ranging from Ø.078" (5/64) to Ø.250" (1/4) in low carbon steel and austenitic stainless steel.
