In-line conveyor ovens: Pallets pass through the oven one after the other. Automatic batch ovens: The oven is charged with pallets while kept at a temperature below the gelation temperature. After the last pallet has been loaded, the temperature cycle is started for the whole lot. The oven is emptied in a rapid process after the complete temperature profile has been run through. Stack ovens: Pallets are loaded into the oven. When each row has been filled, all the rows of pallets are lifted up by one level. When one row of pallets has reached the uppermost position of a temperature range, it is pushed into the next temperature zone and from here is lowered down in fixed time cycles and unloaded. Serpentine conveyor ovens: Pallets are loaded into the oven in fixed time cycles and pass through the individual temperature zones.

Thermal cleaning in the WIWOX® IGS thermal system at up to 500° C removes all organic residues, even from fine bores. Depending on the melting and decomposition point of the residues, they are either melted or pyrolysed. The resulting exhaust air during the carbonization phase is burned in the afterburner chamber at over 850° C. Cleaning in the pyrolysis process requires subsequent post-cleaning. Inorganic components, oxidation residues, corrosion, etc. remain on the tool surface and must be removed. The ultrasonic process with acidic or alkaline cleaning media or the blasting process with organic and mineral abrasives are suitable for this purpose.

There are three main types of infrared emitters. They are classified according to emitted wave lengths. Which emitter type is the best for your application depends on many factors. For most applications an optimum match of emitted wave length and absorption of the target material is desirable. This means a highly efficient transfer of radiation energy in the material and thus a very quick heating. However, there are exceptions to the rule. At very high required energy densities, cyclical processes, transparent, thin or low-conductive materials it might be necessary under certain circumstances to deliberately use emitters whose characteristics deviate radically from the absorption characteristics of the material to be processed. Finally, in many applications, including thermoforming, all three basic emitter types are successfully used – long wave ceramic emitters, medium wave quartz emitters and short wave halogen emitters.

DATAPAQ Oven Tracker profilers based on the compact DATAPAQ DP5 data logger are designed for short and medium duration coating cure processes and optimized for low ovens. The portfolio includes high-accuracy DATA LOGGERS with six or 12 measurement channels, protective THERMAL BARRIERS, the Datapaq Insight ANALYSIS SOFTWARE, and type K, N, or T THERMOCOUPLES. The DATAPAQ DP5 data loggers have been designed to ensure minimum cost of use. They can store up to 10 profile runs before being returned to the PC for download and detailed analysis. This enables rapid verification of a number of ovens with no wasted time.
