Special processing methods are used to produce what is known as exfoliated graphite or expandable graphite from natural mineral graphite. It has the unique property of abruptly expanding by many times its volume when it is exposed to heat. At Georg H. PAVELITH® InterLay NP-1 is used as scratch and layer protection applied on-site with good hydrolysis resistance and low water absorption. PAVELITH® InterLay NP-1 is a mix of biodegradable polymers and natural minerals. The granulate should be applied right before packaging (horizontal laying) between the blocks or slab layers.

"Muscovado Muscovado is a cane sugar from the island of Mauritius and is also known as Barbados sugar. The climate of the small island in the Indian Ocean is ideal for growing sugar cane. Unlike most brown sugars, which are made by adding molasses to refined white sugar, Muscovado sugar takes on the flavor and color of its source, sugar cane juice. Because of this, Muscovado sugar still contains the natural minerals and vitamins from the sugar cane. It has a molasses content of 10-15%, so in its consistency it is very soft, lumpy and moist. Taste and use The taste of Muscovado sugar is soft from toffee and malt and gives this type of sugar its unique character. Muscovado sugar is more resistant to high temperatures than other sugars making it perfect for use in hot dishes or baking. It gives meals and hot drinks a particularly savoury sweetness and is ideal for sweetening marinades, dark sauces, chutneys and all kinds of hot drinks."

"Resources and history Kala Namak, also called black salt, is a salt granulate from Pakistan. This salt is naturally pure and unrefined volcanic mineral salt and is processed according to centuries-old traditions. The salt is characterised by a high water sulphide and iron content. Traditionally, this salt was extracted from mines in Pakistan. The raw material has to be heated in a cooker for 24 hours while it was in a sealed ceramic container together with charcoal. During these 24 hours, the sodium sulphate is converted into hydrogen sulphide and sodium sulphide, which gives Kala Namak its dark colour. After heating, it was cooled, stored and aged. Taste and Use Kala Namak gives food a sulfur taste similar to the taste of boiled eggs. In Indian cuisine, this is highly desirable and Kala Namak is used as a flavoring for fruit salads, chutneys or in the popular Raitas. Bentonite clay is a natural mineral and has a layershaped construction. The moisture is absorbed between these layers. Bentonite clay is an economic solution for temperatures up to 50 °C. When temperatures rise above 50 °C, benonite clay releases the moisture it has absorbed back to the air. With baking at a temperature of 120 °C, this desiccant can be reactivated to be reused. Zeolite molecular sieves are crystalline, highly porous materials, which belong to the class of aluminosilicates. As part of the manufacturing process, the pore size on the molecular sieve particles can be controlled. This allows a selective adsorption of a wide range of organic molecules as well as moisture. They adsorb moisture more rapidly. They will reduce moisture to much lower levels, making their use essential when a very dry product or atmosphere is required. They perform more effectively as moisture adsorbers at higher temperatures.
