From now on, all our blown tubes are also available in Bio-HDPE, which is made from sugarcane. These include the product lines BlockPack, TwistPack Plus, QuadroPack or TwistPack. Selected sizes of TwistPack Plus and BlockPack are even available from stock. From the outside, the packaging made of Bio-HDPE does not differ from its conventionally manufactured "twins"that are also just as robust and flexible in use. There is still one serious difference: the production of Bio-HDPE does not cause any emissions, but on the contrary binds a whole 2.15 kilograms of CO2 per kilogram of material. Another plus: the Bio-PE used is 100% recyclable and can be fed into the material cycle together with PE based on fossil raw materials.

Growing demand for recovered paper We are stepping up the use of recycled paper and rapidly expanding our range. One focus is on coated papers, which are of particular interest due to their wide range of applications and the increasing demand from label users. HERMAcoat Recycling (236), for example, consists of 100 percent post-consumer recycling material (PCR), i.e. the waste paper from private households.

It responds well to coating during production and offers very good printability no matter what the technique, from flexo and offset to screen and digital printing. And with the completely new HERMA rPP self-adhesive material, we are following through in the booming recycled film segment.

With the technology of the SPIES MM we have developed an innovative process to be able to decorate curved products as well. The state-of-the-art in-mold labeling (IML) process allows us to produce curved shapes as 1-material packaging and consequently 100% recyclable. The collapsible ORBIS OceanPak® is designed for intercontinental shipments with a footprint that is optimised for transportation in an ISO sea container. The OceanPak® can be collapsed when empty to reduce storage and return transportation costs. A 40’ sea container holds 60 fully assembled containers and 160 collapsed, empty units.
