The Basto Distillery is a distillation unit that revitalises the Basto region's ancestral methods for producing alcoholic beverages, with particular emphasis on burning wine and grape marc in an alembic. The Basto Distillery combines the traditional production of wine and grape marc spirits with the production of a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, either under its own brand or at the client's request. The valorisation of by-products from wine production is one of the focuses of the project behind the distillery, fostering the circular economy in the agricultural sector. Manzana Egiazki is inspired by the traditional recipe of the famous Spanish Basque liqueur obtained by distilling green apples. A very popular liqueur in the 2000s, it was gradually forgotten. To expand our range of spirits, the Egiazki house has decided to work on a Gin with flavors from the Basque Country using sloe. A recipe that combines the sweetness of sloe with the invigorating character of juniper berries. This fruity alliance gives a very harmonious Gin : delicate, slightly bitter, both tonic and fresh. At the tasting, the nose is floral and refined, and the mouth marked by the sloe. The Gin Arana will seduce you with its refined bitterness and its aromas of citrus fruits, absinthe and ginger.

A great classic in the family of liqueurs ! Quickly after the Patxaran, we decided to create our own mint liqueur recipe. Our range of liqueurs playing more on sweetness and subtlety, we have bet here on intensity and freshness. Beyond its freshness, Menta Egiazki stands out for its lightness, roundness and subtle spices. We achieved this balance by combining two varieties of mint, one peppery and the other green. The first provides a feeling of absolute freshness and the second softens this subtle blend. Our recipe is made from natural essences of spearmint and peppermint leaves obtained by distillation. You should also know that this beautiful green color displayed by the Menta does not hide excess sugar and only reinforces the effect of freshness in the mouth.

Tasting a patxaran liqueur is an essential experience in any stay in the Basque Country ! Wild sloe, sugar, water, alcohol and aniseed. A double maceration. The first is a cold extraction. This involves three-week premaceration of the sloes in 96% pure alcohol. (cold extraction releases the maximum aromas from the sloes and gives the and gives the alcohol its beautiful crimson-red color). Then a second maceration after reduction in anisette (house blend -> this is where EGIAZKI's secret EGIAZKI's secret). This homemade anisette allows us to control the balance balance between sugar, anise and fruit. This process takes between 6 and 8 months.
