SMLD 300, THE SMALLEST With a minimum grid width of just 4.5 mm (with a special coil package even only 4 mm), the micro valves SMLD 300 are suitable for the tightest of spaces. Low-viscosity media can be dispensed with small flow rates. This type of valve offers a small internal volume of only 25 µl. VALVE COILS The valve coils are removable and available in different versions. They are optimised for very fast actuation times and minimal size. VALVE INSTALLATION Fastening type cylindrical: Grid width with highest resolution, small size. Suitable to our adapter nozzles. The thread fastening is designed to allow an easy exchange of the micro valves. especially suited when the micro valves should be as easy to exchange as possible. The micro valve can be exchanged quickly and without dismantling the entire valve holder and without disconnecting the electric connections.

SMLD 300G, THE FLEXIBLE ONE With a minimum grid width of 6 mm, the SMLD 300G is very space-saving, while offering maximum flexibility. These micro valves are suitable for a wide range of viscosities and are available in many configurations. Valve holder with integrated heating can also be combined with it. The internal volume is 65 µl. The R (Resistant) type offers crucial benefits in regards of corrosion and the handling of aggressive medias, compared to SMLD 300G, but remains fully compatible in size and function for all SMLD products and components. The anchors installed in the micronized valves have the shape of a disk. In energized status, this so-called flat armature is pulled against the magnetic yoke component group. If the coil is deactivated, the leaf spring joined to the flat armature presses the seal positioned on the spring-armature assembly unit against the valve seat. These quick-acting valves owing to the small mass of the installed armature achieve switching phases in the millisecond range. As these valves predominantly featuring cartridge connections have an almost frictionless armature movement, they have a capacity of up to 4 billion actuations, depending upon operation mode. Spider valves may also be triggered via so-called pulse width modulation.

Direct acting solenoid valve are operated directly with the force of the solenoid and due to the same even in 0 bar inlet pressure or 0 bar differential pressure between inlet and outlet port such valve can fully open or close. Generally, as here solenoid force is used, generally this force is counter with the pressure force and/or spring force to Open or Close the solenoid valve. Due the same it has a limitation on the combination of orifice and pressure rating it can provide for a given solenoid force. There are some exception designs which are called pressure balance solenoid valve design but apart from that most of the 3 way direct acting solenoid valve design has this limitation.

Unlike air coils, bobbin coils, as the name already suggests, have a ferromagnetic body or coil former made of different material. The advantage of solenoid bobbin coils: higher inductances can be generated. Whether complicated to manufacture or adapted to special requirements - thanks to in-house winding lines, KUK produces the right bobbin coil for you. The bobbin coils are partly manufactured on standard coil formers. However, we mainly wind onto customer-specific coil formers. We wind bobbin coils from enamelled copper wire or alternative conductor material and thus achieve optimum results in customer-specific applications.
