Stainless steel backing strip can be filled in any materials: Polymers, wire, natural fibres, rubber, rubber inserts, animal hair or any mixtures of these products. They are available in 5mm, 8mm & 10mm stainless steel backing strip with filament lengths to suit the application. 3mtr lengths only. Aluminium or stainless steel holders are available.

This industry requires careful selection of materials – purity is essential, as is the chemical nature of the products used. For example, polyisoprene rubber (IR) is used in applications due to the proteins present in natural rubber (NR). There are many impurities in general rubber compounding ingredients that must be avoided for use in these applications. Medical applications require some products to undergo stringent cleaning regimes together with repeated steam sterilisation. When developing the rubber compound and part design, these considerations are taken into account – resistance to steam and cleaning products is essential.

Alpha manufactures a very wide range of one and two part solvent based adhesives that can be applied by brush, spray system, roller or spreader. Product bases include Neoprene, Polyurethane, Nitrile, SBR & Natural Rubber. Many products offer resistance to wide temperature ranges as well as giving high bond strengths and varying open times.
