WEDGE FOR WAGON IMMOBILIZATION WITH RED FLAG WHEEL CHOCKS For parked up rolling stock. Automatic ejection. Jointed lever, can be placed to left or right. Sheet steel case, hard wood interior.

For wheel Ø less than 250 mm, several types available. Type A, B, C and D. ITS DESIGN PERMITS: • bringing alongside without missing, • strong and progressive braking, • a braking slide without gripping, • automatic disengagement at the end of braking, • lightness, stability and robustness. With this stop shoe, a wagon or train can be progressively stopped within a few metres without jolting. To obtain the stop, it is sufficient to use just one shoe, placed on one rail or the other except in a curve, where it must be placed on the inside rail.

In nickel chrome steel for SNCF type rail for wheel Ø greater than 250 mm, available.

The positioning of a scotch block requires undoing all the buffer holding bolts. Can be used at any point on the track without drilling the rail. To be positioned at least 1 metre from the end of the track. PRINCIPlE : Metal plates enclosing a wooden wedge.

These tipping scotch block provide effective protection against accidents caused by shunting errors. Catch by tilting and reversible for 46 and 50 kg rails, other profiles on request. EACH SCOTCH BLOCK CONSISTS OF: - a fixing plate, - a tilt pivot, - a retaining chain. Supplied without padlock.

MOUNTING 97.1: Wheel mounted on ball bearings, the axle is smooth and removable. MOunting 97.2: Wheel mounted on taper roller bearings, the axle is not removable. These wheels can also be mounted: 1. on an axles with external bearers (see p. 42 of the catalogue) 2. mounted with bearings in bearers, which permits motorisation (see p. 44 of the catalogue) The ball bearings (mounting 97.1) withstand lower loads than the taper roller bearings (mounting 97.2). The taper roller bearings do not permit removal of the axle from the wheel.

PRINCIPLE OF THE WHEEL: Wheel mounted free to rotate, on bearings in the hub.  The axle is fixed, mounted on external, removable bearers. The wheel is mounted according to mountings 97.1 or 97.2, non-motorisable, with 2 cast iron, steel or welded steel bearers. For the motorisable wheel: see p. 44, mounting 97.3.

MOUNTING SUITABLE FOR MOTORISATION TYPE 97.3 Wheel permanently fixed to axle rotating in bearers with bearings. 1 “Motorisable” wheel mounted on bearers. Adaptation to motor shaft on request. 2 “Idler” wheel on bearers: freely rotating wheel with same overall dimensions as motorisable wheel. From diameter 150 mm, all wheels can be produced in motorisable mounting 97.3. The dimensions of the wheels opposite are given by way of indication. Motorisation can also be carried out on an axle (see page 54 - axles 81/3 - mounting No. 3). FLAT AND DOUBLE FLANGE WHEELS These wheels are produced subject to quotation, ØP of 100 to 600 mm.
