EleCylinder are electric cylinders with motor, encoder and integrated controller. These energy-saving actuators are extremely easy to use and operation via data input requires no complicated programming. Start and end points can be set to any position. Due to the high-speed movements, EleCylinders are ideally suited for short cycle times. Unlike pneumatic cylinders, they can also perform slow uniform speeds over the entire stroke. Even gentle starting or braking are no longer a problem. EleCylinder are repairable easily and have only a few maintenance parts.

The RCP6 rotary chucks consolidate motorized rotation and gripping movement in a single unit. The rotating axis can perform multipoint positioning between 0 and 360° (one rotation). The rotational speed and acceleration/deceleration can also be set to any value. The chuck module is small and lightweight, as a solenoid gripper is used. Furthermore, the battery-less absolute encoder equipped means that home return is not required.

Efficient positioning, assembly and handling of workpieces are key components in many manufacturing companies to meet growing cost pressures. Replacing pneumatic cylinders with electric linear drives can save up to 90 % of energy consumption. In addition, there are numerous advantages in motion control. IAI has the world's largest portfolio of electric actuators with 24 or 230 volt stepper or servo motors. The electric cylinders perform linear, rotary or gripping movements and are characterised by the uniquely compact design including motor and encoder as well the high quality. In addition to the standard version, electric cylinders are also available for cleanrooms and as IP-protected models for dusty or wet production environments.

RoboCylinder slide table actuators combine high load capacity with very good guiding accuracy. The compact design offers extra stability and enables use even in confined spaces. They are suitable for precise assembly applications, for positioning or for pushing movements of horizontal payloads up to 30 kg and vertical payloads up to 24 kg. The slide tables are provided with fitting holes for changing workpieces. The linear drives are available either as directly driven compact slides with motor in extension of the longitudinal axis as well as shorter versions in which motor and axis are parallel to each other.

RoboCylinder & IntelligentActuator Slider Types Slider type actuators are mainly used for transporting and positioning workpieces horizontally or vertically. To meet the requirements in terms of payload, speed, spindle pitch, precision and much more, IAI offers many choices in both the RoboCylinder and IngelligenActuator series. These include extra-wide slide axes whose base frames have increased bending strength. Many linear actuators are available in two design variants: As a directly driven slider type with motor in extension of the cylinder's longitudinal axis and as a shorter version with angled motor if the available working space is limited.

The linear rod type actuators from the RoboCylinder series are available with 24V stepper motor, 24V servo motor or 230V servo motor. They are characterized by their compact design, mechanical stability and high positioning accuracy of up to ± 5 μm. The linear actuators are available in two design variants: As a directly driven rod type with motor in extension of the cylinder longitudinal axis and as a shorter variant with deflection, in which the motor and axis are parallel to each other. Both variants are also suitable as heavy-duty electric actuators for high payloads. In addition to the standard version, many linear actuators are also available as cleanroom versions and for special environmental conditions also as dustproof, splashproof or waterproof models with IP54 to IP67 protection.

Electric linear actuators from IAI are available as rod, slider and slide table types as well as with toothed belt drive. They are equipped with a stepper motor or servo motor and often already have a battery-free absolute encoder as standard. On request, they can also be supplied without an electric drive unit. The product range of linear actuators consists of the RoboCylinder series, which are characterised by high user-friendliness, simple programming as well as compact design. Their focus is on covering common customer requirements and are therefore relatively inexpensive. Electric slider type actuators and axes with toothed belt drive from the IntelligentActuators product line complete the product portfolio. They meet higher requirements than RoboCylinders in terms of payload, speed, acceleration and precision.

Initiator cables, also referred to as sensor/actuator cables, connect control units and different sensors, or, in the case of reversal of the measurement principle, actuators. Frequently used abbreviations include ini or ini cable (plural: inis). Sensor or measurement transducers transform physical quantities such as rotation, speed, distance or length into analogue electric impulses. In the case of an actuator, the measured electric current (symbol: I, unit: ampere; A) or voltage (symbol: U, unit: volt; V) is transformed into temperature, pressure or torque. The connection cable consists of at least three cores with a small cross-section of between 0.14mm² and 0.34mm². In the simplest case, two cores are required for supplying the voltage, while the last core transmits an I/O signal. For sensitive applications, there are shielded versions in addition to the traditional ini cables to avoid EMC disruptions (electromagnetic compatibility).

The VY solenoid valves are robust, reliable and can be installed in a variety of ways. Installation in-line, on the wall, on modules, as a battery or directly on cylinders is possible without any problems. Available sizes between 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 in 3/2, 5/2 and 5/3.

The segment disc motor valve type 5030 with electric actuator is a perfect choice for on/off and control applications of liquids and vapors, even if they are contaminated by particles.

This high precision torque sensor is designed for both static and dynamic measurements on non-rotating applications. It is particularly suitable for torque measurements on, for instance, extremely small electrical actuating drives and micro-mechanical actuator elements, or for measuring reaction torques e.g. on micro-motors. The high accuracy of measurement also makes this sensor ideal for use as a reference in many fields of industrial manufacture as well as laboratory research and development projects. Not containing any rotating parts, it requires no maintenance if properly used. The strain-gage based sensor’s modular design allows precise configuration for the desired application. With the integrated amplifier option, the sensor directly supplies a voltage signal of 0 ... ±10 V that is proportional to the torque. The sensor can be configured via the micro-USB interface, providing access to, for example, a filter frequency setting, averaging, and a tare function.

Short-stroke Actuators in Smallest Sizes The overall length, width and height of Mini-RoboCylinders are comparable to the sizes of pneumatic cylinders. Moreover, they also work with the same control signals. A changeover to pneumatic-free automation is therefore quick and easy. In addition to the standard version, mini actuators cylinders are also available for cleanrooms and as IP-protected models for dusty or wet production environments.

Increasing Trend: Production in the Cleanroom IAI actuators in cleanroom design are frequently used in the electronics and semiconductor industry, photovoltaic production and medical technology. Due to constantly growing requirements and new legal regulations, they are also increasingly used in other production areas where dust or dirt particles are to be avoided. Stainless steel dust protection band All IAI cleanroom products are classified in ISO cleanroom classes for the maximum permissible particle concentration per m³ of air. With a stainless steel dust protection band, the actuators are sealed and ISO cleanroom compliance is achieved by drawing the air inside the enclosure. Furthermore, the sealed construction also allows the unit to be used, for example, in vertical and horizontal directions (in lateral position), i.e. in the mounting forms that were previously only possible to a limited extent.

IAI's new controller series: R-Unit R-Unit is the new generation of controllers that are coupled via module connections and are modularly interchangeable. These include the RSEL program controller for connecting up to 8 actuators (in combination with the REC EC control up to 16 actuators), the RCON position controller for up to 16 electric cylinders and the REC EC controller for motion control of up to 16 EleCylinder axes. Common to all of them are the linkable control units with identical connections, which allow a free selection and combination of connected electric actuators and their control methods. Mixed control of electric cylinders with 24 volt and 230 volt motors is also easily feasible.

Space-saving electric mini slide table actuators from IAI are used as positioning systems in many manufacturing companies. They are suitable for lifting, lowering, pressing and clamping workpieces as well as for horizontal movements and many other assembly devices. The mini slide table types are available in narrow, wide or flat design. The built-in guide eliminates the need for an external one, which saves assembly space. The latest developments are the miniature slide table types of the RCA2 series with 24V servo motor or the RCS2 series with 230V servo motor.

These valves fitted with microbatteries operate only after being actuated by an electrical impulse. This impulse is triggered by moving your hand in front of the sensor, which triggers the extremely robust pilot valve. After water has been dispensed, the valve returns to its inoperative position. With the ESX-MBC, we present a new CAN-J1939 module especially for the agricultural and construction machine sector, to control electric motors and actuators in a performance range of up to 200 W. It provides four fast PWM half bridges (each 10 A) with current measurement and two further digital power outputs (each 4 A). Of these, two half bridges respectively, which can be combined to form one motor full bridge, and one digital output are supplied via a safety relay (max. 15 A per safety relay). The module also possesses four multifunction inputs, one module identification output, one digital output and one fixed voltage output for sensor supply. All analog signals are processed with a 12-bit resolution.
