Working on behalf of Hyundai Electric UK, in conjunction with National Grid, Collett Transport has successfully delivered two 178Te supergrid transformers from Tilbury Dock in Essex to National Grid’s Biggleswade substation in Bedfordshire.
Utilising our 250 Tonne girder bridge, our Team deliver two 215 Tonne super grid transformers from GE Stafford, via Ellesmere Port, to Kintore Substation, Aberdeenshire.
Adding another wind farm to our Renewables Portfolio, our Team complete delivery of 13 Nordex N133 turbines to Kennoxhead Wind Farm in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The Collett Team have completed delivery of two 20m bridge sections as part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s ‘Yorkshire’s Magnificent Journey'.

After delivering two 160Te shunt reactors last year, we recently completed stage two of the project, delivering two 180Te super grid transformers to onshore substation. Once again, Collett were contracted the full scope of work, providing a door-to-door service from the client’s factory to the substation site. Utilising a 14-row flat top trailer, each transformer was safely delivered to site and manoeuvred into their required position using our jacking and skidding system.

secutex protective sleeves are vital when turning over coils. The lifting strap is attached to a crane hook and attached to the load with the secutex protective sleeve. During lifting, the strap moves freely through the protective sleeve while the latter remains motionless against the load. This means that turning the load 90° is possible without any problem whatsoever. If the load is paced to the other side according to the same principle, it can be also be turned by 180°. The lifting strap can slide through the protective sleeve during the turning process. The protective sleeve and load, however, remain in constant contact. Our tips for safe turning – The lifting strap is exactly at „12 o‘clock“ over the centre of the coil. – Only individual, unpackaged and cleanlywrapped coils may be turned. – A nonslip surface, such as the secutex turning mat (cf.p. 102] must be used. – The coil must be prevented from rolling in or sliding perpendicularly to the lifting strap.
