Undertaking all lifting responsibilities our in-house Appointed Persons, Slinger, Banksmen and Crane Lift Supervisors, operating under Contract Lift Conditions, can provide Crane Hire services directly tailored to our client's individual requirements. Coupled with this, and ahead of the commencement of any lifting operations, our Team provide all the necessary surveys, lift plans, method statements and risk assessments to ensure maximum safety at all times.
Where Crane Hire is not a suitable option we operate a hydraulic lifting gantry or for working in more confined spaces.
The in-house expertise within our Marine Division means we are able to carry out all shipping and chartering activities for breakbulk and project cargos worldwide. Our 24/7 Ship's Agency service takes care of a range of tasks, and we maintain a constant presence during vessel port stay, including superintendence, supervision and advisory services. This includes barge and pontoon operations, and feeder services from the UK to Antwerp, Rotterdam and Hamburg.
We have the experience and knowledge to handle a varied selection of sea, river or canal-going vessels, and are active in the Chartering markets, from project cargo and heavy lift pieces through to industrial cargoes. Our fleet of vehicles includes Low & Semi-Low Loaders, Beam Trailers, Wafer Decks and Multi-Axle Hydraulic Modular Systems up to 3,500Te capacity in 2-,3- or 4-file configuration. Added to this are our SPMT trailers (Self Propelled Modular Transporters), our specialist 550Te Capacity Girder Bridge and our range of Crane Mounted Vehicles & Lorry Loaders including the 205 Tonne/Meter Effer 2055. Under the Construction Plant-Hire Association (CPA) crane rental conditions the client is responsible for supplying all necessary lift plans, Appointed Persons (APs), Slingers, Banksmen and insurance. On behalf of our clients, and with our established crane supplier relationships, we can provide mobile crane hire on a rental basis as an integrated package with our transport operations.
By utilising our crane hire services, our clients understand that they hold the responsibility for providing approved operators to undertake their lifting operations. Alternatively these crane hire services can be provided in conjunction with our contract lift services as outlines above offering a complete solution.
Whether it's manoeuvring machinery within a confined space, loading heavy cargo to an awaiting vessel, relocating transformers or positioning loads, our Team, utilising our jacking & skidding, crane hire and industrial services can provide an integrated solution.
Collett Heavy Lift Engineers and Appointed Persons (APs) deliver bespoke lifting solutions for your cargo. Our in-house Appointed Persons, Slingers, Banksmen and Crane Supervisors can provide mobile crane solutions, including telescopic mobiles to up 1,000 Tonnes and crawler cranes up to 2,000 Tonnes. We plan, order and supervise all mobile cranes needed, from simple single and multiple lifts, up to complex tandem operations.
Our Heavy Lift Team have the knowledge and experience of all aspects of lifting operations allowing us to carry out these tasks adhering to BS7121 Safe Use of Cranes Code of Practice. This allows us to propose, engineer and deliver lifting solutions tailored specifically to each individual project.
Our Team of engineers will assume the responsibility for all heavy lift operations, preparing plans, studies, risk assessments, method statements and providing the required insurance where agreed.
Crane vehicles and lorry loaders are an essential part of our general haulage operations providing our customers with a flexible delivery solution.
Our heavy lift crane vehicle & lorry loader haulage fleet features front and rear mounted cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 9 Tonne/Metre to 205 Tonne/Metre. These vehicles all meet BS7121 Part 4 regulations.
All our Crane Vehicle Operators are trained and certified, ensuring maximum safety when undertaking your lifting requirements.
Our ALLMI (Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers) Certified Drivers are experienced and skilled to self-load and unload freight and machinery. This allow us to safely and efficiently undertake transport, haulage and lifting & positioning tasks without the need for hiring mobile cranes or fork trucks.
These cranes are mounted to artic tractor units and front and rear mounted to rigid vehicles which provide the ideal solution when space may be restricted.
From single unit projects to complete breakbulk contracts our Engineering Team provide complete project management & heavy transport logistics for abnormal loads and oversized cargo.
The Collett Team will manage your project entirely from initial engineering studies, detailed calculations and specialist reporting through to final delivery.
Our in-house qualified Mechanical Engineers are able to propose and produce engineering drawings including geometrical tolerancing to BS8888:2017 standards and working under CDM2015 regulations to BS5975:2018 standards for temporary works.
We also follow EN:1990, EN:1991, EN:1992 and EN:1993 and the British National Annex for the design of any bespoke solutions.
As part of our service you will be allocated a dedicated Project Manager who will oversee these requirements and co-ordinate the entire project, including full route assessment, specialist reporting and swept path analysis where required, ahead of the movement taking place.
Collett forwarding provide a worldwide import & export service for multi-modal freight transport and shipment.
Our in-house Freight Forwarding Team possess extensive knowledge and experience in the shipping industry, organising freight transport on behalf of our customers, providing a worldwide service for the forwarding, import and export of goods from manufacturer to final destination.
Our Forwarding Agents book freight on a variety of shipping and multi-modal providers including sea, air, road and rail, often using multi-carrier types for each shipment, all of which is expertly managed.
As international freight forwarders we offer logistical breakbulk solutions to customers worldwide. Our Forwarding Team regularly handle multi-modal shipments, providing transport solutions, preparing & processing customs and advising as to other specific import and export documentation.
