SpeedCore is a newly developed substrate for hobs. The increased hot hardness of the intermetallic cutting material allows for cutting speeds of at least 30 % higher compared with HSSPM4/ 14 hobs, resulting in shorter production times without sacrificing tool live and ocmplies with the demand of customers for easy handling and easier recycling. Combining the new SpeedCore substrate with a custom coating achieves top performance with easy implementation and high reliability. Advantages - Improved productivity of up to 70 % - Process reliability (like HSS-PM) - Easy to implement; also on older or unstable machines - Regrinding and coating possible without problems

With the DHC Premium solid carbide end mills, LMT Tools significantly increased the performance of the low-vibration premium tools: 25 % added machining volume is the result of different helix angles in connection with newly developed, stable front cutting edges and peripheral teeth. Additionally, the new cutting material LCPK30M including an innovative PVD high-performance coating contributes to an improved tool life and a safe chip removal. A special performance feature of the DHC Premium end mill (Different Helix Cutter) by LMT Fette consists in its multifunctionality: it allows the user to rough and finish with the same tool. It can also produce narrow projections and up to 2xd-deep slots in steel and cast materials with exceptional surface quality. Advantages: - Increase of the machining volume by 25 % - Increased process reliability due to stable cutting edges - Multifunctional – roughing and finishing with the same tool

After chamfering with the ChamferCut technology, no additional processing is necessary. No need for a second cut, often required during the deformation-based deburring process for the removal of material build up. With the chamfering process, the exact chamfer form is cut. In contrast to deformation-based processes, the material structure is not affected. Thus, there is no negative impact on finishing after heat treatment (e. g. honing). The precision of this LMT Fette engineered process is undisputed. The quality of such chamfers defines a new standard – with maximum repetitive accuracy. The combination of these process benefits along with low tool costs makes the ChamferCut the most economic deburring and chamfering process on the market. Advantages: - 100% chamfer quality - Chamfer correction possible via machine control - High efficiency - Simple, cost-effective reconditioning - Module range 0.8 – 42

LMT Fette rolling heads generate the thread or required form and then open automatically after rolling. Before the next thread can be rolled the head has to be put back into working position, means the head must be closed. The completely new designed closing clip, delivered as standard, already allows an flexible and user friendly layout of the process for closing the rolling head. Another significant optimization of the closing process can be realized with the new closing device (CCD) for EVOline. Adapted between rolling head and shank and connected with the coolant supply, closing of the rolling head can be transferred from process time to the non-productive time of the machine. Closing by coolant (or even compressed air) can be integrated in the machine program by a simple function.

Compared with the machining method, thread forming excels through its higher repeat accuracy and greater strength of the threads. The FormMax solid carbide thread former by LMT Fette is made of a newly developed ultra-fine grain carbide and is tailored precisely to customers’ needs thanks to its optimized geometry. Thread quality and tool life are increased even further, as the coated tool surface is especially smooth. Furthermore, higher circumferential speeds increase the efficiency of thread forming. The tool features integrated coolant channels. The standard program covers the dimensions M4 to M12 and MF8 x 1 to MF14 x 1.5 and is available ex-stock at short notice.

LMT Tools has developed the CopyMax family, specially for the die and mold making industry The latest addition to the family is the one-sided indexable insert CopyMax1. It is an alternative for the reliable CopyMax2 with a two-sided indexable insert. opyMax1 and CopyMax2 prove their advantages above the competition during the roughing and the semi-finishing processes. Both tools are manufactured using the manufacturing process HQS (High Quality Sintering), which is registered for patent approval. For the first time, HQS allows for pressing and sintering a ball nose copy insert complete, resulting in precision sintered cutting edges. In addition to introducing the new indexable insert CopyMax1, LMT Tools has developed new shanks for the CopyMax. A cylindrical steel shank version is available in two different lengths, and the cylindrical bolt-on milling cutter are both new to the program. Both milling systems are designed with internal coolant supply.

Carbideline consists of CarbideLine-S solid carbide tools, CarbideLine-H hybrid tools and multi-part carbide tooling with CarbideLine-I indexable carbide tools. All CarbideLine tools excel through maximum productivity in their specific fields of application. CarbideLine-H tools are a new addition to the product range. They cover the module range 5 to 12 and are the 1st. choice for rough machining and finishing large lot sizes, where the tools costs using solid carbide milling cutters are too high and the gear cutting quality is too low using indexable inserts. CarbideLine-H tools are also highly suitable for machining high-strength materials up to 1,400 N/mm2 and enable a gear quality up to quality grade AAA. Its preferred area of application is for gears for commercial vehicles, general mechanical engineering and energy technology. In one specific application it was possible to reduce the gearing costs per wheel by 20% with the CarbideLine-H compared with an indexable insert system.

With XChange from LMT Fette, with its patented interface, for the fi rst time it has been possible to combine the advantages of carbide and steel in a modular tap. Approximately 90 % of the taps used nowadays are still made from high-speed steel. This is because this cutting material is featuring the requested toughness for absorbing the torsional moment as well as the necessary load at the cutting edge when rewinding the tap. HSS, however, is having some disadvantages also, compared to solid-carbide taps: tool life and most importantly the feasible cutting speeds and cycle times are significantly lower. With XChange two physically prohibitive properties has been combined: The solid-carbide threaded head, a combination of ultra-fine grain carbide and high performance coating, is providing: - maximum tool life - and high cutting speeds The flexible steel shank guarantees - the stability of the tool - and offers extra efficiency

The coating of the newly developed CopyMax®2 insert from LMT Kieninger is Nanomold Gold, which is already an indication of top performance in mold and die making. The copy milling insert itself has a new construction design. It has improved cutting and material properties as well as a fully functional second cutting edge. When the first cutting edge is worn, the insert can be turned over and re-used with the same long tool life. Benefits: Identical geometry to the highly efficient WPR-AR copy milling insert. - The stable cutting edge and proven Nanomold Gold coating double the service life per cutting edge - 4 times higher tool life possible by using the 2nd cutting edge. - Highly economic solution for more than 70 % of your applications in forming technology, energy technology and mechanical engineering.

High feed and short machining times are the advantages of the LMT Fette MultiEdge 2Feed mini in a nutshell. High removal rates are achieved especially when machining hardened or high-tensile materials, even with large projection lengths. These results are delivered by the proven high-feed geometry of the 9 mm small indexable inserts, their positive rake angle, the new LCK10M cutting material with high carbide content and the TiAlN-based high-performance coating. The machining of high-tensile steels up to 63 HRC and chilled cast iron up to 67 HRC presents no problem. The machining time for one type of tempered steel was almost half that of a competitor tool.
