The origin of company “Liepajas Papīrs” dates back to 1896, when Victor Smit founded the Victor Smit’s Glossy Paper and Cardboard Factory of Liepāja and built the factory building in 1898. The factory's first production was glossy paper and cardboard, but later, it also started manufacturing photo plates. In 1993 the status of the company was changed, and Joint Stock Company “Liepājas Papīrs” was founded. The company gradually increased the volumes of printing production and in 2005, it started the transition from the production of various white goods to labels and stickers printing. Today JSC “Liepajas Papīrs” is one of the leading players in Baltics and provides wide range of packaging products – self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, wrap around labels, bandalls, etc. Flexography, digital printing, silk screen printing, hot- and cold-foil printing are just some of basic technologies used to create high-quality stickers and labels for local and foreign markets. The company grows rapidly and the number of employees reaches more than 100 persons today. Since the main focus is to expand export markets almost 50% of finished goods are exported to more than 20 countries worldwide. The company is acting according ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 standards and ensures high quality globally competitive packaging products for different branches.
