The SKDS hinged edgeprotector is a massive edge protector for cable grummets. The edgeprotector flexibly adapts to the load, increasing the radius over critical edges and distributing the lifting forces over a larger area. The cable and load are equally protected. It is available in two versions, featuring either a steel or aluminium hinge.

By means of a hinge, the edge protector SKD can be optimally suited to any load geometry. The edge protector can be quickly secured to the edge of the wire cable by means of mounting slits. The wire cable slides through the secutex clip which remains on the lashing belt despite collisions.

The slotted variants can easily be assembled afterwards, the closed types, on the other hand, have to be installed during the manufacture of the wire ropes. EMTA has produced in excess of 60,000 metric tons of Continuous Cast Aluminum Rod in its own plants in Kadirli. EMTA Aluminum Continuous Casting and Rolling lines are designed to produce pure electrical conductor grade aluminum rod by using A7E (purity of 99,7%) and A8 (purity of 99,8%) and alloy conductor grade aluminum rod coils directly from pure molten metal on a continuous basis. EMTA can produce heat-treatable alloys rod with tempers supplied which from F (as Fabricated) to T4 (Thermally Treated). EMTA manufacturing lines are designed to produce from 9.5 to 15 mm diameter rods in level wound coils and packed in both "Eye to Side" and "Eye to Sky" coils of 2 tons covered with paperboard and plastic shrinkage to be delivered on wooden pallets.

Used as bare overhead conductor for power transmission and distribution lines on aerial circuit that require a larger mechanical resistance than AAC, and a better corrosion resistance than the one produced by the ACSR. The sag characteristics and the strength-toweight ratio is better than AAC / ACSR.

It is manufactured from electrolytically refined aluminium, having purity of minimum 99.7% AAC is used mainly in urban areas and the spacing is short and the supports are close.
