It is a glass fibre tape covered with a thick layer of red silicone rubber which provides the tape with a high level of heat insulation. It offers continuous protection at operating temperatures of 250°C and can withstand splashes of molten metal up to 1200°C. It is resistant to most oils and fuels, hydraulic fluids, acids and alkalis.
