Cut-To-Length Lines are core competence at GSW. They belong to the family of Cutting Lines and are designed to process diverse materials out of steel, non-ferrous metals or aluminum and precisely cut a coil into sections of equal length (which is where the name comes from). Starting with narrow slit strip and finishing somewhere beyond 2000mm width – our Cut-To-Length Lines always know how to shine in this process.

We supply from the productions and our stocks ; the galvanized flat steel that is hot-dipping of cold- rolled metal through a zinc bath where both surfaces are coated with layer of zinc applied in order to enhance material lifespan and prevent corrosion which will eventually occur on the material surfaces in the presence of water or air moisture. Light, durable and corrosion-resistant, pre-painted aluminum sheeting products make an ideal base for aluminum license plate manufacturing for cars. Benefits include minimum burr on edges thanks to superior processing, corrosion resistance ensured by a specialized coating on the reverse side and versatile delivery options from coils and sheets to cut blanks and ready-made license plates, which include rounded corners, embossed edges and a painted finish. The alloy and coating are specifically adapted for government requirements and are delivered in accordance with local regulations. Consistency is also ensured with excellent quality controls and compliance with all regulatory bodies, including EN, DIN, ASTM, BS and ECCA. Lastly, aluminum license plate products provide excellent adhesion qualities for reflective film and other applications thanks to a clean, grease-free surface. Choices include top-coating or pretreatment options, or double-coated for non-reflective plates.

The systems of the VBP Series are offline tactile measuring systems which evaluate the cross-profile of the strip – irrespective of the alloy – on strip samples cut from the coil. They are frequently used in hot rolling mills for aluminium and steel, because it is here that the cross-profile is set for all the subsequent uses of the strip; the cross-profile measurement is of great significance at this point. During rolling, X-ray gauges are generally used which operate irrespective of the alloy and which have limited precision due to the high temperatures at the measuring point and due to the other ambient conditions. The high-precision cross-profile measurement is then performed offline using the VBP systems with their measurement accuracy of down to ± 1 µm. In this way the mill operators can achieve a high process reliability.
