LLC "AMT&C" offers automatic measuring system (AMS) for measurements of the magnetocaloric effect and other magnetic parameters. AMS includes: - Halbach-type magnetic field source with changing magnetic field based on permanent NdFeB magnets, - liquid nitrogen cryostat, - the set of measuring inserts, - data acquisition and measurements control system guided by a control computer. AMS has the following working parameters: - variable magnetic field strength - from -1.85 to +1.85 T, - variable frequency of the magnetic field change from 0.1 to 1.8 Hz (magnetic field change rate from 0.05 to 6 T/s), - dimensions of the magnetic field area with heterogeneity no more than 1 % - diameter 20 mm, length 20 mm, - working temperature region – 80 ÷ 365 К, - automatic and manual measuring modes. The basic option of AMS is the magnetocaloric effect measurement. - sample dimensions (min-max) (1-2)×(2-5)×(8-10) mm, - measurement accuracy of magnetocaloric effect: 0.1 K.

The systems of the VBP Series are offline tactile measuring systems which evaluate the cross-profile of the strip – irrespective of the alloy – on strip samples cut from the coil. They are frequently used in hot rolling mills for aluminium and steel, because it is here that the cross-profile is set for all the subsequent uses of the strip; the cross-profile measurement is of great significance at this point. During rolling, X-ray gauges are generally used which operate irrespective of the alloy and which have limited precision due to the high temperatures at the measuring point and due to the other ambient conditions. The high-precision cross-profile measurement is then performed offline using the VBP systems with their measurement accuracy of down to ± 1 µm. In this way the mill operators can achieve a high process reliability.

Non-contact laser measurement system Particular Challenge: As the welding seams show a high reflectivity and are located at a position hard to access, inspection is difficult, all the more so as they dispose of a width of only 500µm. Therefore it is quite a challenge for the laser measurement system. The QuellTech solution: A QuellTech Laser Scanner Q4-5 with extremely small shape factor and high resolution proved to be perfectly suited for this application. In order to suppress reflections from elements in the surroundings, a particular algorithm has been integrated. Ball Lenses are widely used for focusing & coupling light into & out of fibres. With the high refractive index of Sapphire (Al2O3) material, it yields a low spherical aberration that can be used in the range of UV from 200nm up to 5µm, and with it being one of the hardest materials they are resistant to damage. The key feature of ball lenses is their short back focal length allowing for precision coupling where size or space is a limiting factor in the system. Typically used in pairs, where one lens acts as collimator for the second to focus the light back into the coupled fibre. Ball Lenses are manufactured from a single substrate of glad and therefore, depending on the geometry of the input source, can focus or collimate light.
