The reference project carried out by CTRA in 2006 on behalf of OCP Morocco, which involved the construction of two Ø1800 phosphogypsum discharge lines with a total length of 8km, is a perfect illustration of this. These pipes combine chemical, abrasive and mechanical resistance, and were buried at a depth of more than 12m to ensure a gravity flow rate for a charged fluid. This project required the processing of 3400 tonnes of GRP vinylester over 24 months and was the subject of a case history.

Preformed silicone heaters are useful for diamters as small as 12 mm and up to 100 mm. Rounded silicone heaters are not possible with self-adhesive foil. Spiral Wrap Pre-Formed Silicone Rubber Heaters are suitable for tubes and flexible pipes and hoses with Ø 6,35 mm (1/4"). Spiral formed flex heaters can be used up to Ø 12 mm (the length of the stretchable silicone spiral wrap heater is reduced accordingly). The thickness of our spiral-wrapped silicone strip heaters is 2,2 mm. Also our gas and pump line heaters, most frequently used in the semi-conductor process, are shaped and pre-formed according to the object geometry to be heated. Metzner has developed the mandrel cutting machines of the SR series for cutting off sealing rings from injection-moulded or extruded tubes with different diameters. These machines are characterised by their unique processing method and high cutting quality. First, pre-extended "rubber tubes" are clamped onto mandrels. Due to the special design of the mandrels, the mandrel can be set up and removed quickly and without special previous knowledge. The mandrels are then automatically clamped in the machine between rotating spindles and production is started. A knife carriage travels along the tubes and cuts the flat sealing rings to the desired length with either push-fit or circular knives, depending on the requirements. This cutting method is particularly impressive with its high cutting quality in combination with a high output.
