Bothnia Wood’s range of redwood and whitewood sawn products comprises pine and spruce grown slowly in the soil of northern Sweden – a renewable material with extremely high strength in relation to its weight. The sawn whitewood and redwood products are available in a wide choice of lengths and dimensions. In addition to our regular range, we are also able to supply custom dimensions. Spruce and pine timber, used for construction purposes is often sawn from ‘centrepieces’ and ‘sideboards’. The centrepieces are cut from the middle of the trunk and the sideboards from the outside of the trunk. ‘Centre-free’ parts are centrepiece parts without heartwood or the soft inner core of the trunk portion, making them stronger and more stable. Rough sawn wood is almost always kiln dried.
