LECO is a mirror and glass processing company with around 70 employees and has been headquartered in Schönsee, Bavaria, since 1962. It was originally established back in 1928 in Lommatzsch, Saxony, and has been successfully continued across more than three generations since then. But it was not only the owners who remained loyal to the company – the majority of employees also displayed great solidarity with their employer throughout the many years of their working relationship. This is also the basis between us and our business partners. Our extensive machinery allows us to produce even the smallest of glass products (from 10 mm) in a wide range of shapes. Both small volumes and large series are produced with glass of 0.8 mm–19 mm thick. Cutting, grinding and polishing flat glass and mirrors are among the core activities of LECO. Portrait of the SGL Carbon site in Wackersdorf: The SGL Carbon site in Wackersdorf, in the Upper Palatinate, is part of the Carbon Fibres division. Here, about 140 highly-qualified staff deal with the production of mats and non-woven fabrics from carbon, glass or natural fibres. The diverse product range of over 150 product variants is rounded off with the subsequent process step of stacking. This involves superimposing different layers of mats, cutting them into stacks and joining them, all per customer specification. These stacks are then processed by the customer to produce preforms or finished components. Every year, SGL Carbon produces over 8, 000 tons of carbon, glass or natural fibre mats at the Wackersdorf site. The site also boasts three stacking machines with a capacity of over 2 million stacks per year. The products from Wackersdorf are used in a wide range of sectors, albeit primarily in the automotive and aerospace industries. Several recycling facilities serve to recycle the production waste that cannot be avoided in the process. All the facilities are powered by green electricity. Our SIGRATEX textile materials are the ideal basis for producing high-quality, fibre-reinforced plastics. They are suitable for a wide range of processing operations.

  5. SENSOR INSTRUMENTS GMBH

    Germany

Established in 1992, Sensor Instruments GmbH has established itself at the cutting edge of the development and production of optoelectronic special sensors. Whilst initially concentrating on industrial forming and glass recycling, we gradually moved into further sectors in which slightly adapted sensors could be deployed, such as the semi-conductor industry and the plastics sector. Sensor Instruments then gradually expanded to cater for the automotive industry, the medical technology sector and pharmaceuticals. We are now active in almost all fields and number a range of well-known mechanical engineers amongst our OEM customers. Our focus has always been and still is on our customer-specific approach to problem-solving, which is best expressed in our company motto and driving force, "Let's make sensors more individual".
