As per robotic applications for welding, there are specific welding machines (MIG/MAG, TIG) that feature real-time machine-robot communication. The robot may change its parameters or select one of the machine’s preset programs. There are also the automatic wire feeder located on the robot for its proper feeding, the welding pincer and the automatic pincer cleaner that guarantees consistent welding quality even after many hours of operation. One additional component used is a shock sensor, which ensures that the robot will stop in case of collision. Another feature of these robots is that they can control the welding pathway by means of special sensors. Robots may also manipulate external axes and expand their work envelope, and thus facilitate welding in difficult parts of pieces. Also, by means of a positioner, the system acquires increased flexibility and registers huge increase in productivity.

Pressure gauge and thermometer are suitable for the various pressure and temperature measurement applications. We offer solutions for gas and liquid measurements. Flow monitoring Flow monitoring is a procedure that demands a reliable and reproducible surveillance of limit values and flow patterns. Flow sensors detect critical deviations of the flow rate of liquid and gaseous media. Typical areas of application are the monitoring of cooling circuits in welding applications for example, protection against dry running of pumps, as well as the flow monitoring in air ducts and air conditioning equipment. Because of the calorimetric mode the media temperature is also monitored. Flow rate measurement In addition to reproducibility, flow-rate measurement demands a defined degree of accuracy. The flow meters continuously and accurately measure a defined volume of a fluid per unit of time and are suitable for applications where qualitatively consistent process results and a steady supply of fluids is essential. We offer flow meters with calorimetric, magnetic-inductive and Vortex measurement principle for various areas of application.

Particular challenges To correct the effect of the tolerances of the parts, the welding robots path in conventional applications is usually adjusted, by means of a time consuming manual correction (teaching). The warping effect caused by the thermal expansion however cannot be compensated this way. For this purpose, QuellTech offers a perfectly tailored seam tracking solution, which is based on a QuellTech 2D-Laserline Sensor of the Q4 family. The method consists in measurement of the real position and width immediately ahead of the welding process. The laser sensor captures the real dimension of the weld bead, and the software used for this process simultaneously sends the nominal position to the robot. The robot performs a correction movement in X or Z position according to this measurement. This way not only the deviation caused by tolerances, but also the warping effect can be compensated – and the weldment takes place exactly at the required position.
