Aluminium fabrication plays an essential role in metal fabrications for a variety of industries. The metal’s light weight, corrosion resistance, and ductility make it ideal for many applications from automotive parts to medical devices. Aluminium isn’t always easy to work with. The appropriate practices and equipment is necessary if you want to avoid welding defects or damage. The choice of alloy, welding gas and joining method can all have a significant effect on the quality of finished products. Due to aluminium’s unique characteristics, aluminium fabrication differs from the other metals. Low weight density of aluminium is common knowledge which brings various advantages and disadvantages in the fabrication. Although aluminium has a weaker mechanical properties, it still possesses higher strength to weight ratio compared to stainless steel and carbon steel in various applications.

Base Group is the first manufacturing company in Poland to have successfully launched an electronic system for welding process management. Our system oversees welding of steel structures for power industry, offshore construction welding, structures for customers from the railway industry and welding of structures for the chemical industry. This is actually our next step into Industry 4.0. The electronic system for welding process management is a solution to be used from the first stage of planning the welding work, through coordination of welding the structures, up to the final stage of project reporting. In 2015 a team of researchers at Base Group accepted the task of creating unique production technology for aluminium heat exchangers for generator circuit breaker, also called coolers. In the course of research and conducted tests we succeeded in defining the production process which met strict Clients’ needs. Our products fulfil high expectations of upmarket Clients, which is confirmed with 100% quality control of produced heat exchangers. To guarantee the top quality of every single item produced by Base Group we perform helium tests in vacuum at the level of 1×10˄-6 bar × cm3/s and pressure tests (more than 62 bars). The results obtained by us are more credible than similar solutions offered by French or Italian producers.

The steel welding process is a key technology for the production of metal structures. We weld stainless steel structural elements, as well as entire structures made of structural steel, stainless steel, aluminum and its alloys. The main welding types used by us are: a) arc welding with a consumable electrode in the shield of inert gasses (MIG welding) and active gasses (MAG welding); b) arc welding with a non-consumable electrode in protective gasses (TIG welding); c) 3D laser welding. The specificity of the welding services and its belonging to special processes mean that it is carried out in our plant only by qualified employees who undergo regular training to improve their qualifications. The uncompromising approach allowed us to weld in industries with increased requirements: automotive, aviation and railway. In the metal welding process, we can also use a welding robot, which allows us to achieve high repeatability and welding quality for small and large production series.

Aluminum alloys are among the materials characterized by poor weldability. Any experienced welder will confirm that to work successfully with aluminum, you need to have a lot of experience and know all the features of this metal. Technologically this process is quite complicated and a lack of experience can lead to manufacturing defects. Due to its high thermal conductivity, low melting point and the presence of a refractory oxide film, welding aluminum requires special equipment. TIG welding with shielding gas using aluminum alloy hard facing rods provides excellent joint quality.

Our 20 kHz roll seam welding heads are particularly suitable for continuous welding of thin aluminum foils or copper foils. Ultrasonic roll welding is similar to ultrasonic welding. Due to the discshaped sonotrode, however, a continuous weld can be generated without interruption. Thanks to the inductive energy coupling, the 20 kHz roll seam welding heads are maintenancefree.

We offer MIG-MAG and WIG welding with maximum power of electricity 400 A. Our welding machines are KEMPPI and MILLER. We make welding of steel details, tube constructions with length till 6 meters and weight till 3 tones. We also offer spot welding and robotic welding (Fanuc) at details with length till 3 meters and width till 1.5 meters, by one or by two sides. We weld ferrous metals, stainless steel and aluminum. After welding we make cleaning of welding and painting (powder and wet).

Machine suitable for the closing of bags with height 200 to 700 mm and max weight. 10 kg. The system with two pairs of heating elements and belts PTFE allows the closing of bags made of polyethylene, polypropylene, cellophane, coated paper, laminated aluminum, etc .This particular welding system is strongly recommended in the presence of bags with high thickness and bellows side. The temperature is controlled by two electronic temperature controllers and the feed speed is adjustable. The distance between the solder and the edge of the bag is 30 mm. Aluminum is a light, thin metal that is very commonly used in welding shops. With this metal, welding must be done at low temperatures, otherwise pores will form in your materials.
