The ESX-4CS-GW is the first control unit of the fourth generation. The new platform is in turn based on the current AURIX family by Infineon. This AURIX family contains multicore and single core processors. The ESX-4CS-GW (C = Compact, S = Small, GW = Gateway) is equipped with a multicore processor with four internal processors. Three of these cores are available for the creation of your application. The fourth core serves as the lock step core for safety-oriented applications. Furthermore, the processor is equipped with the following internal memories: 8 MB Flash, 2 MB RAM and 32 kB EEPROM. An external 16 MB flash memory is also available. As the device was designed as a central gateway module, six CAN interfaces are available in addition to the five Ethernet interfaces, four of which represent an Ethernet switch for mobile applications. Furthermore, the device can support CAN-FD. The number of I/Os (12 x In, 6 x Out) has been adapted to the concept of a gateway module.

CANUp telematics gateway is designed for identifying and recording huge amount of machinery operation parameters. CANUp is employed in vehicle GPS tracking and telematics, also for remote stationary object monitoring systems. The CAN-EtherCAT gateway can link CAN modules with CANopen (CiA DS 301) or layer-2 (ISO 11898-1) implementation to a realtime EtherCAT network. Firmware updates are possible via web interface (EoE) or FoE (File access-over-EtherCAT). The CAN high speed (ISO 11898-2) compatible interface allows a maximum data-transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s. This control unit has two 0-10 Volt outputs to regulate the EC fans. Via the 2 tacho inputs you can directly monitor the status of the fans and their speed, if tacho signals are available on the fans. HVAC sensors or potentiometers can be connected to the unit, via Modbus RTU communication or 2 analogue inputs. The built-in 24 VDC power supply can feed the external sensors or potentiometers. The controller itself needs a supply voltage between 85 - 305 VAC. Application specific firmware is needed for the unit to function. This firmware can be downloaded via Senteraweb, our online HVAC portal, where we already made a limited number of specific firmware version available, used in typical HVAC applications like destratification.
