Many customers ask us what ROPP is and the simple answer is Roll On Pilfer Proof closure. Simply put it is an unthreaded aluminum shell that is placed on and pressed down onto the bottle neck while thread forming wheels spin around the shell and press against it to conform to the existing threads of the bottle and locking ring. In many respects a ROPP capper resembles a chuck capper although since it is not torquing a cap there is no clutch mechanism required. ROPP capping machines are available as a single head to multiple head high speed rotary systems. The big advantage of a ROPP capper machine is that it is sealing the product at the same time it is providing tamper evident security. The big disadvantage is that it is expensive to run more than one size cap. The neck and threads of the bottle must also be hard enough to withstand the pressure required to form threads such as glass or hard plastic.

Pilfer proof closures are the most suitable e.g. for spirituous beverages and are equipped with an EPE sealing insert (polyethylene foam). The closures can be delivered with transparent or body colours as well as in lots of printed versions, with locking ring or with vertical notches Special version with vertical perforation for returnable bottles is available upon request.

Ventilating aluminium closures are good for fruit juices - also with carbonic acid, hot and cold fillings, heat exchangers and suitable for pasteurisation. Shaft Couplings RfN 5071 Standard series – this range is the most popular, being used in most applications. Characteristics Shrink discs are the modern method for creating a mechanical shrink fit. The shrink disc consists of either one or two thrust rings with tapered bores and a mating tapered inner ring. By tightening locking screws the thrust rings are drawn together compressing the inner ring and applying pressure to the outside of the hub clamping it to the shaft. Being positioned around the hub there is only one interface transmitting the loads giving the shrink disc method distinct advantages such as offering the possibility of very concentric and well balanced connections that are suited to high speed applications. Traditional shrink fits require complicated calculations, close machining tolerances and fine surface finishes, they also need considerable effort with mounting and removal. The Shrink Disc connection has none of these disadvantages and is better than any of...
